CLASSIC TWO STROKE
It occured to me that I have probably been working on Japanese two stroke engines longer than anyone else in the trade.
When I left college and started work in a motorcyle workshop it was the early 1960's and the Japanese motorcycle invasion had just started. Later I was workshop foreman at Monty & Wards race shop when the early Yamaha racers arrived. When the first Suzuki 250 twins came we tuned them and modified them into race bikes and launched the Monty & Ward Suzuki Clubman. At the same time I was mechanicing at the T.T. and the transatlantic match races.
I started my own motorcycle business in the early 1970s and made our reputation tuning two-strokes and building two-stroke engines, a business I have continued to the present day!
Nowadays a lot of our business is rebuilding classic Japanese Two-Stroke engines.

The basic price for an engine strip and rebuild is £200 for a twin or single and £350 for a triple or four, plus parts and VAT.
We also carry out polishing and bead blasting (P.O.A.) crank rebuilds, rebores and nicosil replating + engine tuning.

The following prices are to strip and rebuild cranks, replacing all main bearings, crank seals, con rods and big ends.
Some engines e.g. LC 250/350, TZR , RD500, RG500 have cranks pins integral with the cranks webs , if needed , they are extra.
